From the original design of SOSET typeset, we have considered very well to go away from the graphical pointsize system.
SOSET typeset is designed to make typesetting easier and to enable even lay people to design stamps in a very easy way.
In general it is hard to understand that graphical pointsize is not measurable, where inch-sizes are.
We also wanted SOSET to control the available space there is in a stamp.
The design-wizard is a great help for easy stamps and can only work if the (real) size of characters is known for calculations.

Below you will find some information from our Getting Started manual.
In the first example below you see 3 characters with the same size in graphical points in 3 different fonts.
Note that the real height of the capital characters is different.

In the second example below you see 3 characters with the same size in inches in 3 different fonts.
Note that the real height of the capital characters is exact the same.

Coming to the size-system used in SOSET:SOSET does all calculations based on the real font-height in inches.
-Note that it converts from there the graphical point-size in 3 decimals.
-Note also that whenever you change a typeface, that the used height (in inches) remains and that again the point-size is re-calculated.

Most graphical software only offer point-sizing, where SOSET offers both.
Font-size in SOSET Typeset The size of a font is generally measured in points; a point is almost exactly 1/72 of an inch. 1 Pica equals in its turn one point.

Point size originally measured the vertical length of the lead slug that supported characters in printing shops.
Point size only loosely refers to the size of the characters.
The following example shows the font heights for the same characters in different fonts at the same (entered) point-size:

The point size does not limit the height or the width of the character; the characters can be larger than, equal to, or smaller than the shoulder of the lead slug.
SOSET Typeset offers a unique way to select the size of a character. During installation all fonts in the system are scanned by the SOSET Typeset program to find the exact capital height.
In SOSET Typeset you enter the capital height and by doing so all text in different fonts will have the same and exact height.

It is also an advantage that the use of the capital height of a character is easier to understand for most people than the typographical point-size.

For the experienced typesetters SOSET Typeset offers also point sizing options.

CodeBase returns the -40 error if some problem occured while it was trying
to change the file length of a file. CodeBase does this in the function
file4lenSetLow(), in f4file.c. If you are programming using the 32-bit
Windows version of CodeBase, then the Win32 API functions SetFilePointer()
or SetEndOfFile() failed when CodeBase used them to change the length of a
file. Unfortunately, the Microsoft documentation does not describe
possible reasons that would cause these functions to fail; it only suggests
using the GetLastError() function to determine the cause of the error. You
can add GetLastError() to the file4lenSetLow() function to find what is
causing the problem on your system. When you have discovered the cause,
you should have enough information to prevent the problem from recurring.

As Soset calculates the (very exact) size of a capital character in mm/inches, it initially sets the line-spacing to that same size and each new textline will have the previous line-spacing. This makes that text exactly starts at the top of a stamp, which is very difficult to achieve with the uncontrollable point-size in other software. Especially for the design of accounting stamps and circular and oval stamps this approach offers more precision and efficiency. In word-processors and DTP-software a character has a corps, which is "flesh" above and below a character and that makes that characters automatically have a certain linespacing. This makes also that you never can start a text exactly at the top of a stamp and/or position a text exactly within a circular or accounting stamp.We recommend to use the design-wizard and the text-linespacing options to let Soset suggest most of the line-spacing.

Once you have made invoices for the new year 1999, you have made a decision that the previous year cannot be used anymore for invoicing. Soset warns you for this. This protects SOSET invoicers also against trouble with the tax-department; generally they do not accept gaps in the range of invoicenumbers, which will happen if you could invoice before last-used invoice-date.

Open the file pagewiz.ini (wich is found in the windows directory) in notepad or wordpad. Add the following line to Pagewiz.ini: Correction White=25 -->this means 0.25 mm extra engraving space around the stamp. Make sure that you save as Text Document when you are finished editing the pagewiz.ini.

To enable troubleshooting, Soset stores error and other messages in a soset.log file in the default datapath. You can find this file in the SOSET datapath. SOSET NamoUtil offers options to view, print and analyse error-information in the Soset Utils menu. The soset.log file and *.err files (in temp-subdir) can be deleted on a regular base.

Namokey is not running but we get the message: namokey is already running
This happens when namokey isn't properly shut down. For example when the computer where the key(s) are fysically attached to, crashes or hangs itself up. When namokey is started, it creates the following 2 files in your license directory:- actuser.dbf- license.dbf.
When you shutdown namokey properly, it deletes those 2 files. In case of a system crash, those files couldn't be deleted.This happens when namokey isn't properly shut down. For example when the computer where the key(s) are fysically attached to, crashes or hangs itself up.

All you have to do now is to make sure that all users have logged off from soset, and delete 2 files in the Soset license directory: actuser.dbf and license.dbf.
You can now restart Namokey.

Soset is compatible with any Windows driven device. I.e. if there is a Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP driver available for your laser engraver, Soset you can make use of the laser.
The SOSET software has been designed to comply with Windows standards. If a Windows compatible driver has been installed, you can output from within the SOSET software.

The automatic design of cutting-lines and the support for automatic engraving of die and counter for seals will be available for ALL type laser engravers, per January 1, 2002, including the M&R laser engravers.

SOSET has been designed to exchange data with an accounting package.As here is no control over the financial status of customers, SOSET does not have the option to delete customers. It is very important to keep this.If you still want to delete customers you have to use NamoUtil as follows:Start NamoUtil.Open the Customer.dbf table exclusively. In exploring NamoUtil, using "Open Table Exclusive", we sometimes get the error message: "File Access Denied " This usually happens when we try to open "Product.dbf" or so. The next message we get is "Fatal Error. Soset NamoUtil program will close and quit."
The errors are caused by the fact that you try to open the file exclusive while others are using it. Be advised to only use exclusively for routines like re-indexing and so. Normally you can use the shared opening.

right-click on the link and choose the Save as option.

Double-click on the namosoft.sos file in the SOSET license-path and select Notepad you want to use to open this type of file and the registry is ready now.
Note also: sometimes you will receive an older version of the Namosoft.sos, this is caused by the fact that the Internet Explorer caches the version. Therefore you need to clean up the cacher via the Internet Explorer menu, Tools, Internet options, in the section Temporary Internet Files, you click on the Delete Files button.

How do I set or change the color of a text or graphical object ?
To use a color for text or graphical objects, a color must have a so-called RGB value. You can set this value through Namosys > File menu > Browse > Color table.
Add or edit a color and enter a valid RGB color. You can use the color dialog to find the required color.
In Typeset the text color can be assigned using Text menu > Colors menu or using the color icon on the text toolbar.
For graphical objects use the properties dialog of the object.
Remarks: After adding or editing a color in Namosys, restart Typeset for the colors chnages to become effective.

run a shipping run the box number appears on the packing list
(normall). When we then go to that box to collect the stamp.......its
not there!!. So we have went into to the order in Order Entry and it
tells us the stamp is in a different box number from the box number on
the packing list. This has happened six times today already. Can you
explain what is happening?

>> Since the boxnumber cannot be set manually the only possible way this could have happened is that after shipmentrun some orders were again reported as being in box thus giving that orderitem a new boxnumber.
A way of this to happen is that orderitems that had to be remade, which results in a new runcard being printed. When this runcard/item is reported "In box" (again) it will get a new boxnumber.

Building the codebase lib and dll generates serveral error, both during compiling and during linking.
Codebase dll release version will build fine with the codebase patch.
Remarks: Don't forget to link the libs (c4dll.lib, c4lib.lib) into the project

The Windows version prevents the installation of some parts of the NamoUtil module during setup.
These parts are harmless and essential for the high speed index-searches and matches.
For this issue is a workaround:
Copying all dll's into the startup directory of NamoUtil.exe fixes the compatibility.
NamoUtil9_dll.zip with the missing dll's can be requested via email

Stamps do not move on the the page when using the arrow keys. Only with the mouse can stamps be positioned.
When using the arrow keys to move stamps, the stamps shift according to the grid specified in the preferences.

One can try to save some stamp by finding out at what time in the stamp.dbf this ftp errors occurs. If found delete all following stamps and export the ones that remain.

Delete all files in this directory, EXCEPT: namosoft.sos, remote.sos and if you are using web clicks or order import clicks, license.dbf
Restart SOSET at the station where the hardware key is connected.

Good morning! I am trying to run a report and have run into some problems.
When I am in the customer screen, I select reports, history, total sales.
It brings me to a dialog box that shows options for customer ID, customer
group ID, and date ranges. It allows me to change the date, but nothing
else. When I say OK it gives me an error message of customer ID not found,
but it will not allow me to change this data to put in an appropriate ID
number. There is also a box grayed out for search options which I cannot
access.
The dialogs used for reports are all the same.
Some options are not appropriate to the requested report, therefore some items are grayed out.
A total sales report includes all sales and not part of it.
If you go the the order screen, you will find more options available.

The DCOM error is caused by some change within the platform.
Message like:

Has there been eg a Windows update or did any one change directories on the SOSET setup?
A dll from the SOSET setup has not been registered.
This can happen if not the default setup directories are used.
This can be fixed with the regsvr32 command-line utility to repair the registry.
-Open Windows command prompt as administrator.
-Enter following commandline:
C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\soset\sosetcom.dll"
The registry should get confirmed now.
Remarks: SOSET requires some additional files (Visual C++ 2017 Redistributables) that are not currently installed on your system. Remarks: Namokey version 4.1 does not properly reset the license or does not handle the reset pincode. Namokey version 4.2 solves this. A solution might be to set date and time at the namokey-pc forward. This usually overrules the reset problem. Another solution is it to install a newer version of Namokey, this can be done by sending Namokey.exe and Soset.dll. It is not necessary to upgrade the other SOSET programs if Namokey is installed on a stand-alone PC.

SETTING UP SOSET ORDER ENTRY SOFTWARE
Introduction
SOSET Order Entry Software comes with example database-tables. With these tables you can experience how SOSET works and handles information.
Of course you want to customize settings and data, perhaps you want to use data from your previous order entry system or from your accounting software.
SOSET has options to make this go easy.
You can create your company-setup by modifying the example database-tables. However the multi-company structure of SOSET allows you to set up different companies by creating a "new" company. In this way you can keep your examples for testing and training.
Before you start to modify data and/or creating a new company, we recommend that you read the following instructions and work in the same order as described. In that way you will have a save and fast procedure.
Keep in mind that SOSET can do a great job for you and that a good setup will improve your efficiency and customer service dramatically.
In order to do so it needs a lot of information. A lot of this information might not be available in your current system and you might need to consider settings very well.
How to add or edit a Company?
After selecting Company from the Maintain menu, you view the existing companies in a dialog. You can choose to add, edit or delete a company.
To create a new company, you click Add. Enter company data, make sure that you enter the country name, this will be used to omit printing of the country name if customer is in the same country.
Check Local or Host production will set the default export-option on or off.
For Cash order handling you need to specify the CustomerId Cash order. SOSET order entry can automatically create cash-orders, this is very useful if you want to use SOSET order entry as POS-software. Such an order will be entered with the here specified customer-id.
Click on the button:Logo if you want to specify a header and footer for the invoices, orderforms and shipping lists.
Click on OK to let SOSET prepare the database-tables for this new company. You will be prompted to answer the following question Do you want a local environment with its own order databases?
Choose Yes if you want to have a separate database-table set with separated shipping, invoicing etc. for the new company. SOSET automatically creates a subdirectory on the basis of the entered CompanyID and the SOSET DataPath refers directly to this subdirectory. Choose No if you want to enter and keep orders separate for retrieving information but with shipping and invoicing integrated in the existing company (or companies).
Keep in mind that SOSET will always have only one stamp-database for the design and combined production and will keep all information, per company, up to date automatically.
SOSET will create and prepare the new company now.
Note: Don't be confused if you think that nothing happened! For a company in the local environment SOSET will create and index new tables. For a global environment only the company information is stored and a switch set to let the settings and operations for this new company fine.
In case you want to edit company data, select the Edit button in the Company dialog.
You can delete a company, however, this option should be used with care! In case you delete an existing company, you only delete the company data, not the customers, orders or products.
After adding a new company to the SOSET Order Entry system, you can select Open company from the File menu and open this newly entered company.
Preparing information in the database-tables:
Most of the necessary information can be stored in the SOSET database-tables from within the SOSET Maintain menu. In this way SOSET will control the entry and warn for errors and missing information.
Some of the entry might be fixed by SOSET, like Payment and other ID's as SOSET requires sequential numbering for these fields.
If you have experience with databases and if you want to have browse and other database-table techniques or want to use advanced import, export and selection options to speed up the entry and to avoid mistakes by wrong data entry, we recommend that you use the SOSET NamoUtil program. This program is included in your SOSET software package and installed during setup.
We recommend that you collect the necessary information for entry in the appropriate database-tables, in the same order as listed here.
1. Product groups in ProdGrp.dbf
Categorize your products into product groups and enter these in the product group table.
2. Chart of Accounts in Accounts.dbf
A list of assets, costs, sales-groups etc
3. Payment/Delivery terms in Payment.dbf
Here the payment terms, like 2% net 30, are specified. Don't confuse this with the Payment option, where the way of payment like Payment by Credit card, are specified.
4. Shipment options in Shipper.dbf
Enter the various ways of shipment you use. Also enter the various freight charges under the freight button.
5. Discount options in Discount.dbf
6. Quantity discount (No table, is controlled by SOSET and stored in system-information)
7. Tax options in Tax.dbf
Enter your favorite tax option with the tax-rate-% .
8. Freight options. Enter a total shipment value, above which no freight is charged.
For each customer or customer-group and for each product or product-group you can specify if a freight-charge is applicable.

16. Start Soset NamoSys and the File, Reindex all option.
17. Now you can start the Soset Order Entry. You might get a few messages about possible corrupted System table. Ignore these messages for this moment (only!).
Go to File, Preferences, General and select default values for the different options in this dialog. (If you cannot open Soset Order Entry you should try to enter the appropriate and/or missing information in the System Table with the NamoUtil program, however we recommend to do this with the help of our support department)
Note: After you have entered data in a way different from SOSET Maintain option or SOSET Namoutil, it is advised that you start re-indexing in the Namosys-program.
Import into SOSET database-tables of customer data and chart of accounts from other applications:
If your application has an export option or if you have data in spreadsheet, word processor or other format you can easily prepare these data for import into the SOSET database-table.
There are a few easy steps to follow:
1. Make sure that nobody is using the SOSET order-entry database tables.
2. Generate an ASCII or ANSI text file from your customer-data and one from your chart of accounts; make sure that there are no formatting- or layout codes in the files. As, so called, delimiter you use a Comma, in export-options this is mostly called CSV-format. The order of the fields, the (maximum) length and the type is described below.
3. From the SOSET distribution CD-ROM you need to copy the various database-files (extension:*.dbf) from the sub-directory \Misc\Interfce to the \Data\Import sub-directory as created by the SOSET installation procedure.
4. In the SOSET Namoutil program, you select File, Open table exclusive and select the PCUSTOMR.DBF for the import of customer-data; select now File, Import, Text file, delimited with ' option and locate the before created CSV-file.
When the import is ready, you can see all data in the browse screen.
5. Now you can append these data to the SOSET customer database table; it is no problem if you already have entered (e.g. manually) customer data, the new ones will be added with the Tools, Update Customer table option in Namoutil tools, this option also updates the search-fields and sets the shipping days to default values.
6. Repeat this procedure with the PCHART.DBF for the import of the chart of accounts. Export the data into the ACCOUNT.DBF of SOSET order entry.
Note: If you have data in ASCII-format then you need to convert them into ANSI-format. Even if you don't see this directly it still might be necessary to convert the data.

In a large shipment-run all finished orders are shipped; no matter if there are still others orders from that same
customer in production. During a shipment run all orderitems and completed orders of the same customer are combined and depending on the specified shipping day (in the customer-screen) the orders will be processed. Depending on the customer-invoice specification you will get an invoice if shipment-invoicing is selected there, else you will get a packing list. Both forms specify the box-numbers. Soset will also produce an shipping-overview and labels. If specified: freight charges and best way of
shipment is calculated and processed. The only thing you haveto is to take the goods and pack it. Check now if there are orders not completed or having problems and change the status of these orders back to in production in the order entry. The other orders are shipped and you inform Soset about that with the Tasks, Shipment, Shipped option.

The archive date is the current date minus 100 days.
3 The orders will be archived in the year of the invoice date. (E.g. 04-02-1998 is archive year 1998)

From the original design of SOSET typeset, we have considered very well to go away from the graphical pointsize system.
SOSET typeset is designed to make typesetting easier and to enable even lay people to design stamps in a very easy way.
In general it is hard to understand that graphical pointsize is not measurable, where inch-sizes are.
We also wanted SOSET to control the available space there is in a stamp.
The design-wizard is a great help for easy stamps and can only work if the (real) size of characters is known for calculations.
Below you will find some information from our Getting Started manual.
In the first example below you see 3 characters with the same size in graphical points in 3 different fonts.
Note that the real height of the capital characters is different.
In the second example below you see 3 characters with the same size in inches in 3 different fonts.

Coming to the size-system used in SOSET.
SOSET does all calculations based on the real font-height in inches.
-Note that it converts from there the graphical point-size in 3 decimals.
-Note also that whenever you change a typeface, that the used height (in inches) remains and that again the point-size is re-calculated.
Most graphical software only offer point-sizing, where SOSET offers both.
Font-size in SOSET Typeset The size of a font is generally measured in points; a point is almost exactly 1/72 of an inch. 1 Pica equals in its turn one point.
Point size originally measured the vertical length of the lead slug that supported characters in printing shops.
Point size only loosely refers to the size of the characters.
The following example shows the font heights for the same characters in different fonts at the same (entered) point-size:

It is also an advantage that the use of the capital height of a character is easier to understand for most people than the typographical point-size.
For the experienced typesetters SOSET Typeset offers also point sizing options.

Another easy solution is the following; Please check the ORDER.INI file in the windows directory. Open this file with Notepad or Wordpad and check the Soset
ProgramPath=C:\APPS\SOSET In that same path there has to be the typeset.exe otherwise Soset order entry cannot find it. If this is the wrong path, we recommend to change it accordingly. Make sure that you save as Text Document when you are finished editing the order.ini.

SOSET allows you to set up customer groups and each customer can be a member of such a group. This makes it very easy to set similar specifications, discounts etc. for all the members of that customer group. It also makes it possible to have special prices for a group of customers. This is done by selecting a customer-group in the product with the special pricing. During order-entry SOSET will first search for the product+the
customer-group ID and take that product, if available. Otherwise SOSET will take the product, with an empty customer group ID. This means that you can have a same product ID, several times in the product table, as long as they all have different customer-group ID's. Therefore it is advised to duplicate a product and specify the customer-group. You can specify the prices of each product in the default currency and also 4 different currency's. You will understand that this way also enables you to
better query your order and product tables on product ID AND customergroup ID.

All editing during a browse operation is immediate, the table is opened and you are editing the actual records in the table. After the editing you only have to close the table, there is no need to save again. If you try to save you will get a conflict with your own editing situation.

In general: changing a customerID or deleting a customer-record is NOT done; the consequences are very often very difficult to predict!
Extra caution is taken because SOSET does not control accounting, but still needs to be able to exchange the correct information.
Consider the following: The customernumber (field: custID) changed in SOSET and is not changed in your accounting. The result can be that the same customernumber is twice or does not match any data in your accounting. Do you want that?
However: in NamoUtil you can open the customer-table and use the Table, Delete records option.
(But please be careful, wrong handling has immediate and irreversible effects!)

As Soset calculates the (very exact) size of a capital character in mm/inches, it initially sets the line-spacing to that same size and each new textline will have the previous line-spacing. This makes that text exactly starts at the top of a stamp, which is very difficult to achieve with the uncontrollable point-size in other software. Especially for the design of accounting stamps and circular and oval stamps this approach
offers more precision and efficiency. In word-processors and DTP-software a character has a corps, which is "flesh" above and below a character and that makes that characters automatically have a certain linespacing. This makes also that you never can start a text exactly at the top of a stamp and/or position a text exactly within a circular or accounting stamp.We recommend to use the design-wizard and the text-linespacing options to let Soset suggest most of the line-spacing.

Once you have made invoices for the new year 1999, you have made a decision that the previous year cannot be used anymore for invoicing. Soset warns you for this. To enable troubleshooting, Soset stores error and other messages in a soset.log file in the default datapath. You can find this file in the SOSET datapath. SOSET NamoUtil offers options to view, print and analyse error-information in the Soset Utils menu. The soset.log file and *.err files (in temp-subdir) can be deleted on a regular base.

Namokey is not running but we get the message: namokey is already running
This happens when namokey isn't properly shut down. For example when the computer where the key(s) are fysically attached to, crashes or hangs itself up. When namokey is started, it creates the following 2 files in your license directory:- actuser.dbf- license.dbf.
When you shutdown namokey properly, it deletes those 2 files. In case of a system crash, those files couldn't be deleted.This happens when namokey isn't properly shut down. For example when the computer where the key(s) are fysically attached to, crashes or hangs itself up.

All you have to do now is to make sure that all users have logged off from soset, and delete 2 files in the Soset license directory: actuser.dbf and license.dbf.
You can now restart Namokey.

Soset is compatible with any Windows driven device. I.e. if there is a Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP driver available for your laser engraver, Soset you can make use of the laser.
The SOSET software has been designed to comply with Windows standards. If a Windows compatible driver has been installed, you can output from within the SOSET software.
The automatic design of cutting-lines and the support for automatic engraving of die and counter for seals will be available for ALL type laser engravers, per January 1, 2002, including the M&R laser engravers.

SOSET has been designed to exchange data with an accounting package.As here is no control over the financial status of customers, SOSET does not have the option to delete customers. It is very important to keep this.If you still want to delete customers you have to use NamoUtil as follows:Start NamoUtil.Open the Customer.dbf table exclusively. (File, Open Table exclusive)(Nobody should/can use the table now!)In the (View) Browse dialog, you can
browse through the file.If you are familiar with regular syntax, you can also set a filter with the View, Set Filter option.e.g.: upper(MLCity)='CHICAG' and Sales_Yr3=0In the browse area you can click on the most left, very small, field to set the deletion mark.The little field will get black.Do this for each record you want to delete.If you click again on that field, you will recall the record.Once you are done deleting, you select from the menu: Options, Pack.This will finally delete all
records with the deletion mark.Be advised to handle this very carefully, as wrong criterion settings in NamoUtil might bring quite some dramatic and irreversible difficulties.

The errors are caused by the fact that you try to open the file exclusive while others are using it. Be advised to only use exclusively for routines like re-indexing and so. Normally you can use the shared opening.

The invoicing is blocked to avoid loss of data.
At the beginning of each invoicerun SOSET backups the tables involved in invoicing.
When the invoicing is interrupted, due to a system-crash or freeze then you cannot simply restart the invoicing after you have reset the system.
In that case the invoicing would backup partly modified data over the backup (which contains the correct data of before the invoicing)
You need to contact Namosoft to get a special code to release the system for invoicing.
We do this to assure that you make an extra backup of all data.
If you would not do so, then you might have a quite serious problem which we cannot fix anymore afterwards!
So, first thing to do now is a system backup!

First of all, all users log off.
Then we recommend to backup all SOSET-data
(especially the files with DBF and FPT extensions in the data\soset directory).
So, first thing to do now is a system backup!
Once you have received the unlock-code from Namosoft you can proceed as follows:
Restore the invoice run before the freeze with the option:
Order Entry: File, Restore, Invoice run
Then you enter the unlock-code with the option:
NamoUtil, Soset Utils, Reset invoicing.
Then you can start the invoicerun again.
We still recommend that you do the utmost to avoid any interruption during the invoiceruns.
It is always difficult to control the outcome when the system freezes or crashes.

The archive-option in SOSET NamoSys and SOSET NamoUtil are not designed to create space and will only slightly compress data.
In general we do not recommend to delete data and/or files to generate diskspace. Harddrives come with huge volumespace and database-systems are designed to handle large volume tables.
Searching for information within SOSET is faster than any other search. By simply entry of jobs, the data are simply build up and should be used.
The archive-procedure is meant to get archive-files for each year and to enable you to isolate these. The archive-procedure also checks data and correct errors and re-write the job-files, which improves disc-access and usually optimizes the performance of databases in general.
To prepare your tables for archiving use the NamoUtil option:"SOSET Utils > Production status update" (to activate use pincode 7676).When this command has finished you can archive stamp via the Archive option in NamoSys.

From the main menu you use: File, Archiving, Archive Stamps.
Next you will get a dialog asking you a shipping date. All records in the database from before that date will be archived.

Before archiving verify the SOSET version with the Namosys, Help, About Namosys option.

You can arrange billing and shipment address via the invoice printer settings (file menu > preferences > printers > invoice, more).
Here you can set the X position of the mail (shipment) address and the non-mail (billing) address.
It is not possible to put the invoice number on the packing slip.
In general: use the printer preferences to arrange our print layout.
For labels you have extra print settings available (barcode and/or logo) in the shipper settings

The missing records have been added to the accounting tables and can now be exported with the File, Export, Financial data option of SOSET order entry.
Remarks: If you do not have the InvD_Bak.dbf you need to do the repair manually by entering the missing data in the InvData.dbf and InvDataL.dbf. Also advise to update SOSET order netry with the latest version.

Today when I was doing the packing lists my computer gave an error and I was
instructed to restart the computer. I tried three times and could not get
back into Soset Entry. Then went to a different computer and did the next
step which changes to shipped. Then did invoicing and they printed okay.
During the back up of orders that machine had an error and told me to
restart. I got back in and tried to restore the last invoice run. A message
told me it was unable to restore the last invoice run.
I have not tried anything else since then. Any suggestions?

Invoice table was in use so could not be backed up.
Invoice table is in use when either open in Namoutil or OrderEntry "invoice registry" is in use.
Fix:
If invoice.dbf and invdata.dbf have the same last invoiceno copy both tables to backup dir and rename them invoi_in.dbf and inv_in.dbf respectively
Next restore invoice run
(if invoice does not contain same last invoiceno than invdata (or vice versa) one has to manually add the missing records)

1)Invoice and Invdata is filled during invoice run and emptied in fin. export and added to invdatal.

On 2" seals the male and female don't line up, and
our 1-5/8" seals are working fine, and both ARE USING THE SAME
PRINTSETS.
With the Universal built laser-engraver there is a known problem that sometimes the settings are not copied.
The machine then runs with the previous settings.
The only solution available is to restart the laser-engraver totally and try again.
Another know situation for laser-engraving seals, is that the power-setting might be too high or too low.
In that case you will see that the plastic looks melted or is too undeep.
In both cases the die and counter will not fit.

When I change the lasser-cutting settings like power and speed nothing wil change even when i modify the figure?
These settings, along with the M&R settings in the printset allow you to control the laser output.
Unfortunately, both the M&R-Universal laser and the Trodat laser do not allow/enable use to feed these settings to their proprietary laser-driver. Both laser only allow there laser to be controlled via manually setting the laser driver.
So all these settings (for the moment) only apply to the LMI laser which is not applicable for your plant.
I know its a shame but what are we to do ? We only make the software.

We are having trouble finding a print driver that works in Windows.
The laser engraver is an LMI Series 5000L.

Have added disc drive and now have drive c, d & e all 2Gb, as I am running
out of disc space for soset and other programs.
Ideally, I would like to move soset to it's own disc drive namely 'd' .
However the security aspects of soset make this seem like a difficult
operation.
Can you please assist me to accomplish this in the easiest way possible and
so that I do not damage files, or lose history or archives.
Please note my original soset installation was on windows.

You can copy the complete soset database to the new location without damaging or losing any data. Afterwards you do need to change the SOSET shortcuts to point to this new location.
Alternatively, you can run the SOSET setup program and install SOSET on its new location (all shortcuts will now point to this location) and after the setup, copy your current database over the demo database.
E.g. say you want to move the SOSET database form c:\data\soset to d:\data\soset
1) Close all SOSET programs including Namokey
2) Run the SOSET setup and when prompted for the installation directories enter d:\data\soset
for the data directory and d:\data\license for the license directory
2) Move/Copy the complete directory (and sub-directories) c:\data to d:\data
3) Start Namokey, next start SOSET Namosys and reindex all tables

Namokey version 4.1 does not properly reset the license or does not handle the reset pincode.

During Gettings corrected stamps in PageWizard, not just new stamps but also old (and already shipped) stamps appear on the page.

From the same-table name there is a file with extension: "DBF", also look for an extension "FPT"
That file should be restored as well.
After restoring always use NamoSys, Reindex tables to re-initialize the file(s)

When stamps are collected in PageWizard they are blocked. In that way stamps will not appear on multiple pages or change during the output procedure in PageWizard.
When for any reason, PageWizard is halted the block remains and avoids editing in SOSET Typeset.

This PageWizard block can be released by the following:
Start NamoUtil and login using your SOSET pin.
In the menu: Soset Utils you find the option: PageWizard reset.
Remarks: Note that this block will release all records. Just in case multiple users are processing stamps in PageWizard.

When printing a page in PageWizard mirrored on 600 DPI the page is printed twice as big as it should be.
About printing mirror pages in Pagewizard on 600 DPI:
The DPI settings in Pagewizard must match the DPI settings of the printer itself as specified in the printer-driver.
In your case, when the printout is twice the size it should be it means that your printer driver is set to 300 DPI (you can check the printer settings via Start > settings > printers > select the printer used > File menu > properties).
If you set the printer driver to 600 DPI, the page in Pagewizard will be printed correctly. As you already found out, you can also work the other way around, i.e. set the Pagewizard DPI to 300.

How to setup Soset OrderEntry to create pdf's copies of all invoices.
As of Soset version 4.3.21 OrderEntry can create pdf documents of all invoices.
The pdf files will be created during the invoice run.
Setup instructions:
1) Obtain the invoice_pdf.xsl and soset_xsl_lib.xsl from the Namosoft (send us an email) and copy these files into the Soset data Extensionsdirectory.
2) In the Soset data directory create a new directory "invoice_pdf"

having a problem getting the shipping address to print on the invoice.
On the Invoice we can get the billing address to print on the top left, but the shipping address does not appear on the right.
Under Preferences>Printer's> Order/Invoice Printer settings we have pre-printed paper unchecked, and the x position of the mail address at 1".
But the x-position of non-mail address is 5", but it will not print out on the invoices. Any idea why not?
Both mail (or billing) address and the non-mail (shipping) address will print on the invoice if we process each one at time.
But these do not have an actual invoice number assigned to them. Which is weird?
We do not have this problem with the packing slips. Both the shipping address and the billing address print in the correct place.
We did get our header & footer logos to print out properly!

When printing invoices via an invoice-run or during a shipment-run, there is no shipment address printed on the invoice.
This because the invoice can contain several orders which can have different shipping addresses.
When printing an invoice via "File menu > print order as > invoice" you only print (representation of) an invoice of the current order.
Because there's only one order on this invoice both shipping as invoice address gets printed.

Follow these steps:

Select Soset Namosys > Utilities menu > Add language text and create a new entry (click the "new" icon).

In the Prase section enter: ***quotation notificationXXXXXX***
Replace the XXXXXXX with the companyid this quotation text is for.

Select a language
The quotation text is multi-language. The language used is set in the Orderentry > Customer screen > Language

In the detail section enter the quotation email text.
The following text keys replacements will be made in the text (all text keys must be enclosed in angle brackets):
CUSTID with customer id
CUSTOMER with customer contact or customer name if contact is empty
ORDERNO with ordernumber
DATE with current date
Note: if the text starts with html, the text is considered html only, meaning the email will not contain a plain text part. Otherwise the email will contain both plain text and html text parts.

Remarks: The smtp server used to send the emails is set in the soset.xml. The same setup applies for invoice notification emails and shipment notification emails. Instead of 'quotation notification' use 'invoice notification' or 'shipment notification' respectively.

Stand-alone lines, ie. lines which have begin and end points not connected to other objects, are erroneously interpreted ascuttings lines by the Trotec driver. According to Trotec this bug is fixed in thenew release, version 7.
Please contact Trotec at support@trotec.net for help. They will inform you about the release date of the new version and wether your laser will support this release.

The image options starting SOSET TYPESET 32-BITS VERSION 4.00 have been dramatically changed and exchanged with a more reliable and modern library. This library offers more and new formats. Unfortunately some of the formats are not available, due to license-regulations.
We offer a special 16-bits program image.exe which contains the "old" filters and can be used to convert the various file formats into a WMF-format for import into the new SOSET typeset. We also recommend to use the OLE-options to link 3rd party application-designs to a SOSET typeset stamp.
Please find the available formats in the format.htm page from our web-site.
Note: not all options might have been implemented yet, please contact our support department for a current status.
Note: if a WMF-file with a placeble header is imported, the SOSET programs and Image.exe convert the file and remove the header, in order to improve performance and quality. The old file is saved in the same directory with the extension: WM_.

With the upcoming introduction of the Euro-currency a currency-option isavailable in SOSET order entry.This option enable simple and correct invoicing in foreign currency. some simple guidelines:

-The SOSET order entry software comes with a currency table.-First you need to edit this table with the option: Maintain Currency table where you enter the exchange rates of the different currencies. (from bank or internet listings). You can also use the
NamoUtil browse option to do this. (For correct functioning and calculation you should update the exchange rates in the CURRENCY-table frequently!)(We now have special web-tools to simplify this!)-In the preferences you select the default currency for your country and/or company. EMU-countries also select theEuro-currency-identfier. WARNING: Once you have chosen this currency you should NOT change it, unless you change ALL value fields in ALL tables into the newly chosen
currency!-In the More section of the customerscreen you can select a Foreign Currency. This will be the default currency for this customer. Packinglists and invoices will be calculated printed in that Currency.-Order entry is done via the Default Currency screen, but the default screen is the Foreign Currency screen. An option is in prepartion to enable entry in this Foreign Currency screen also.-With the F11 button on the keyboard you can toggle between the screen with the Default
Currency and the Euro Currency. (Title and colour change!)-With the F12 button on the keyboard you can toggle between the screen with the Default Currency and the Foreign Currency. There is a known Windows buffering problem, where Windows workstations that open files shared from Windows machines have problems with buffering.
This is caused by a corrupted Virtual Network Redirector (VREDIR.VXD version in the Windows-system directory).There is now a new VREDIR.VXD for Windows that does disable the buffering of files shared on Windows network.

These point-of-sale printers are very useful for situations where large volumes of run cards and packing slips etc. need to be printed. The error messages that may appear are mostly self-explanatory.
We have listed some of these messages followed by one or more solutions or explanations.

Setup errors:Message: "SOSET detected a license error #051 or #52; date"

The setup procedures tried to install files and settings, but could not open tables or files exclusively. This indicates that the tables are in use by other users or applications.

Message: "SOSET detected a license error #026; date"

Message: "No SOSET license path" or "No SOSET data path"In the SOSET folder you can view the properties per program (in Windows95). Click the right mouse button and selectProperties'. Select Shortcut' and view the target line': from left to right it should read the SOSET program path (drive\DATA\SOSET\programname.EXE), the SOSET DataPath (drive\DATA\SOSET) and the SOSET LicensePath (drive\DATA\LICENSE).You can specify the SOSET DataPath also in the Preferences from the File menu in Namokey. The
SOSET Path refers to where the Namokey software will find license information.

Message: "Unable to open license table"This message refers to the linkage between the license control and the Namokey software program. You should start Namokey at the security station and keep it running for as long as you want to work in any SOSET program. Make sure the software protection key is connected to this computer.

Message: "No license available"You have exceeded the total number of licensed users. This can be caused also by abnormal program-termination, where the Namokey program did not get any log-off information and did not release the user. You can clear this by using the option: File, Current connections, Clear all. (Namokey is designed in such a way that you may always clear users, even if, in a network, other users are still working in Soset; Namokey will register the users again.) Another
explanation here is that your license has been expired. If that is the case you can check thesoftware protection key option from the File menu in Namokey.

Installation error:

As a result of an installation error, is it possible that the Typeset button on the toolbar in SOSET Order Entry does not function properly. This button facilitates switching between SOSET Typeset and Order Entry. If that is the case, you should do the following:In the Windows directory you search for the file TYPESET.INI. This Windows directory could be, e.g. C:\WINDOWS. You double-click the file to open it. in this file the defaults are summed up. The SOSET ProgramPath should be referring to
the directory where the TYPESET.EXE is saved. An example is: C:\APPS\SOSET\. You can view the ProgramPath in thePreference settings from the File menu in SOSET Typeset. Besides in Windowsyou can see the ProgramPath when you right-click on the Typeset icon in the SOSET folder and selectProperties. Then you choose 'Shortcut' and in the Target line you can view the SOSET ProgramPath, the SOSET DataPath and the SOSET LicensePath.

Problems with user connections In case of an abnormal program termination, e.g. a power outage, or program crash, the following situation can occur. There are still active users according to SOSET, although there are actually no users currently connected. (You can view all active users in theCurrent connections option from the File menu in Namokey.) As a result Namokey cannot be closed and the SOSET software cannot be exited properly.

Message: "Unable to terminate NamoKey. X SOSET user(s)
connected".Use the Clear all-button in the Current connections option from the File menu in Namokey. SOSET will disconnect all users that were still connected, according to the SOSET system.

Message: "ISGDI9.DLL error or no images in Soset typeset"As a result of an installation error you might not see imported images anymore in Soset typeset. The following message can appear on starting Typeset: "ISGDI9.DLL not in specified directory." This file is set by default on installing SOSET. Follow the next instructions to solve the problem. In the Windows System directory (e.g. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM) you locate the file, named: ISVB.INI. The last line of this file contains the
following:

Check the datapath. When you have changed something during installation, like the default path, this could mean that the *.DLL file can not be found. All users of the SOSET-software need a pin-code in order to get access to several functions.These pin-codes enable you to track user-information and to protect the SOSET-data with restricted use. In the NamoSys program you will find the browse user table option. This allows a SOSET-supervisor to add, edit or delete users for the Soset program. The level attached to the pin-code can vary from 0 to 9. A higher level (of course) gives access to more critical
functions and can be used to overrule a low-level pin-code. These functions can be specified as follows:

Engraving logos on the RSX Laser sometimes results in the full logo area being engraved. This despite the fact that the stamps show up properly on screen and when send to a printer.
Below is a checklist of the issues you have to take under consideration if this error appears: Use the cable shipped with the machine. This cable has a built-in ferrite for noise suppression both to & from the engraver.See if your computer terminates the printer port according to IEEE1284 spec.Some cheap parallel port cards or motherboards without proper termination may develop errors as the cable gets longer, because of reflections or capacitive coupling in the cable between adjacent data
lines.Make sure the parallel port is set to "compatible" mode in the bios (on some motherboards, this may adjust the electrical termination of the parallel port to prevent reflections & bad data.)Buy an expensive cable, one that is shielded if you have to use a longer cable. A properly shielded cable can go farther.With any printer cable, try keeping it away from power cords if possible.If you bring the cable near a monitor or a power supply cord data starts getting scrambled.A cable company

manually, an e-mail or fax will be generated. If the e-mail field is specified SOSET will send the JPEG-image by e-mail, otherwise the proof is faxed.

The NamoSoft SOSET software will run on any PC running Microsoft Windows.
If you're running one of the following operating systems, you're fine to run CCleaner:
Windows 10 (all editions, including 64-bit)

Since SOSET is a small, quick program there are no minimum memory or hard drive requirements.

We recommend OpenType or TrueType version of all fonts.

Correct statistical data from query on SOSET files
SOSET tables contain a lot of information. Some of these are for technical reasons, others for retrieving only. The best way to get information out of the SOSET tables is to use the report options from the various menus. Analysis with the query options offer a lot of flexibility, but might confuse if not correctly specified. There is e.g. some confusion about the CustGrp field in the OrderItem table. This field is used to get the correct link
between the product table and order entry and typeset.
It is very likely that the information product in the orderitem has a customer-group stored in the orderitem different from the customer. This is done for TECHNICAL reasons. However during postings to the history table the customergroup as specified in the customer-file is copied. This is done to get correct statistical information.
Be advised that you use the history-table ONLY, if you want to retrieve statistical data. Contact our customer-support at support@namosoft.nl for further help. With the latest version of NamoUtil we can prepare customized queries for your specific needs.

We constantly maintain SOSET to work fine at the various Windows platforms, including Windows10. At this moment we are in the process of re-designing and refreshing the user-interfaces of the SOSET software.
There will be a more efficient use of larger displays. The core of the software however, will remain to keep its great stability and reliabilty.
Mid 2016 we expect to launch new versions of the SOSET software.

Remarks: Namokey version 4.1 does not properly reset the license or does not handle the reset pincode. Namokey version 4.2 solves this. A solution might be to reset date and time at the namokey-pc to an earlier time. This usually overrules the reset problem. Another solution is it to install a newer version of Namokey, this can be done by sending Namokey.exe and Namokey.dll. It is not necessary to upgrade the other SOSET programs.

After restoring the shipment run the order with 'Invoicing during shipment' still have the status 'Invoiced'
Also the 'APORTO' and 'APACK' orderitems are not removed after the restore.
The first shipmentrun crashed, just after printing and before updating the orderstatus to 'Ready to ship'. The invoiceno's and the 'APORTO/APACK' orderitems have assigned to the orders.
Next a second shipment run is printed. Now there will be double 'APORTO/APACK' orderitems in the orders. No invoices are printed, because the orders have already the status 'Invoiced'. Restoring the last (second) shipment run will not restore the invoice status and will only remove one 'APORTO/APACK' orderitem of an order.
Restoring must be done after the first failed shipmentrun.
In the future version of SOSET these things will be better handled. Also more logging to a file will exactly show what is going on.

Leaving out all the technical details, Soset does not and cannot overrule resolution settings of a particular printer. Moreover some printers don't have a variable resolution at all.
For that reason the resolution settings in both the printer driver and SOSET Pagewizard must match, i.e. must be set to the same value.
In your case: either adapt Pagewizard from 600 to 300dpi (which is the solution you have right now) or change the resolution in the printer driver to 600dpi.
This will give you a non-scaled printout.

What to do when a table has got copputed?
In case of database corruption use:
NamoUtil, SOSET Utils, Clean and Repair, Repair table option.
Keep in mind that this solution will probably cause the loss of several records.
Restoring a backup of the corrupted file is another solution.

while restoring make sure that you restore all files involved.
From the same-table name there is a file with extension: "DBF", also look for an extension "FPT"
That file should be restored as well.
After restoring always use NamoSys, Reindex tables to re-initialize the file(s)

Widescreen distortion of circular stamps
De-formation on big screen (especially for ciruclar designs)
Drawing happens with horizontal and vertical resolution; in widescreen there is too much difference between them and circular designs might look like egg-shape.
On most screens you cannot see that difference. This situation is called anisotropic scaling.

Since widescreen displays have a large difference between horizontal and vertical resolution, the stamps in typeset will look distorted.
Printing the stamps will however still result in the proper stamp proportions.
To correctly display stamps on widescreen displays enter the following setting in the SOSET.INI file: Screenmode=1
The Soset.ini can usually be found in the Program files-directory. This setting should be changed on each workstation separately.
In a network and/or remote desktop situation you also need to consider the following:

Xerox does not print
printer problem
using Soset in conjunction with our Fuji Xerox P8ex printer.
Initially I could print using this software, although we were
experiencing diminished print quality on the Left hand side of the document.
However I could print from Microsoft Word without any fault.
Currently I am unable to print using this program. Instead memory
problems are resulting. Our printer is supplied with the PCL6 driver as well
as PCL5e. Both drivers are resulting with this problem. However I
can still print from Microsoft Word with no fault.
My Operating System is Windows 95 and is trying to print
documents on vellum paper using the Soset package.
Currently also I am reluctant to uninstall and reinstall your
Soset product due to certain security key codes.
Could you supply instructions on reinstallation?

About reinstalling SOSET:
Reinstalling SOSET is a matter of running the setup program. If you're not using the latest SOSET setup files (available from our web-site www.namosoft.nl) you'll have to update the license file after running the setup. This is the same procedure as the 3 monthly license update.
About diminishing characters:
This issue could be caused by windows95 and the printer (not the printer driver) are not compatible in regards to some specific (true type) fonts.
You can circumvent this problem by using the "Print TrueType as bitmap" or "Print TrueType as graphics" feature of your printer driver.
About the memory problem:
Please supply us with more information. During what routing do you get the memory error (during Pagewizard ?), and what's the exact error message ("Out of memory" ?).
Is printer spooling turned on, or is the print job directly routed to the printer. In the latter case, the printer might really get out of memory if you are printing a graphic intense page.
For now I can only suggest to try printing on a different resolution and, if it is not already the case, turn on printer spooling (printer driver properties > details > spool settings). Or reinstall the printer driveraltogether.
Also, and this is an advise of more general nature, if possible upgrade to windows XP.
Windows95/98, windowsME are even no longer supported by Microsoft.

Since SOSET knows where the cutting lines are for each stamp (the outer border) it does not have to start at the far right and left margin of the sheet. SOSET can"trim" the start and end position of each line just outside the cutting lines.
When you consider 600 lines of resolution means 600 horizontal passes per inch (25.4mm) it translates into a big time saver.
Most stamps are not "justified" in their line lengths.
This could mean a considerable amount of time saved as the beam will start exactly where the engraving is needed. What this means is that the the procedure directs the engraver only there where the stamps are and unused areas are skipped.
This cuts down on the amount of travel of the laser beam right to left and therefore saves time. If there are areas in between stamps that do not need to be engraved the laser beam turns off. SOSET also saves filter media and laser use by not engraving
where it trims the right and left side of the engraving sheet area, and where it does not engrave in between the stamps (where possible).

SOSET order entry can handle any currency, specified in the currency table. The currency-exchange rates can be entered in this table. For each customer you may specify the currency and SOSET does all the work for you. All bookings are in the system-default currency.

Installation of the latest versions of the SOSET software copies data from the product-table into a new table called Pur-Prod.dbf. All inventoryinformation is automatically updated in this new table, however the information is still available during order entry and via the product-screen in SOSET order-entry. This inventory and purchase table-link is the first step for future purchase options.
IMPORTANT: the following inventory-related fields are temporarily
in both the Product-table and the Pur-Prod-table; only the fields in thePur-Prod-table are automatically updated and only these can be used as a reliable information. The fields in the Product-table are kept for backward-compatibility. We can assist you to restructure queries you have.

During a shipment run in SOSET order entry an interface file can be generated.
Therefore you need to check the Save info box in the Maintain, Shipping options from the OrderEntry menu.
The Name of the file created is: shipper name (max 5 char) +sequential number (3 char) .CSV

By default this file is generated in a so called CSV format. You can however choose to have this file in a so-called fixed-length format,
therefore you need to change the following parameter in the order.ini file (in Windows systempath) at the shipping station (use notepad only to edit Order.ini):

This option can be specified for each PrintSet(product-category) via NamoSys, Browse, PrintSet.
It is a another step forward to come to even more advanced and computerized page layout. With this option SOSET PageWizard, during a "get corrected stamps" run, finds all multiple stamp orders and groups them per quantity, while specifying on the layout and runcards how often this layout has to beprinted.

An Advanced Shipping Notice is automatically generated during a shipment run. The file can be used to inform customers up front about an incoming shipment. One shipment has onenumber.
You can have a bar-code label printed with this number.
With one scan andthe ASN-file customer can automatically update inventory information.
Data are stored in file named: XXXXXX.ASN (Shipment-number + ASN extension).

Inkpad change options with inventory control
Supplying selfinkers you will have situations that you runout of inventory. To enable you to keep the inventory information correct, wehave added an option which offers you to choose a different selfinker.
E.g. you need aPrinty 4911 with a red inkpad and they appear to be out of stock.
However, you enter this orderitem for 1 Printy with red inkpad, this productwill be deducted from yourinventory.
With a simple right-mouse click on the
order-item you may use the pad changeoption.
The dialog offers you to choose twice: one for the pad which returns to theinventory and one for the replacement pad.
In this case you will choose a black inkpad first and next the red inkpad. Theoption will deduct 1 red inkpad and add 1 black inkpad to your inventory.
On screen these changes will appear as order-items, you may discover that youcannot change these, as they are automatically linked to the originalorder-item. When you delete
the original order-item the added items will bedeleted also and the inventory is updated accordingly. Note that the quantitiesare reciproke against each other.

The header image of the pdf has to be of type jpg and it must have the same name as you current header for printed version (which is probably of tiff format).
The email text of the invoice notification can be set via Namosys > Utils menu > Language. Search for ***invoice notification 1***, select the language and enter the text in the textbox.

For customers to receive their invoices per email, they must have an email specified and the invoice format must be set to "email" or "email and print".
Invoice format can be set in the customer screen > Invoice button.
The invoice format can also be set in the customer group so as to preset new customer accounts.
Note: a pdf of all invoices are copied to an invoice_pdf subdirectory of the Soset data directory.
Conditions for invoices by email:
-Order status may not be entered
-Only during invoice-run (NOT: Invoice current order)
-Excluded are orders with ordertype: all orders on same invoice
-Excluded are orders entered via SOSET vt Web
-Excluded are orders invoiced during shipping
Technical conditions:
SOSET supports only anonymous relay smtp servers. This smtp server does not require login and relays/forwards all emails to any server.

Add SMTPSERVER within the SOSET label in SOSET.XML:

Check the current email server used by Soset (the smtpserver setting in the top of the soset.xml file).
If this current email server is also migrated, i.e. it will get a new dns name of new ip address, you will need to update the soset.xml to the new migrated email server.
FYI. The emailserver, pointed to by soset (from SOSET.XML), needs to be an anonymously accessible smtp-server.
