NamoKey Information
Starting SOSET version 2.89 a NEW software protection key procedure is being used to protect the SOSET software and its licenses. Each SOSET program has its own software protection key. This means that each program has its own license. To run any SOSET application and to legalize its use in a network environment you need to have this software protection key and you need to run the NamoKey software. The latter means that you cannot start working in any program, unless you have NamoKey running.
The NamoKey software not only controls the licenses but also enables you to check and reset license-options. The software protection key must be connected to one of the parallel ports of your computer, in case you have a single user version of a SOSET software program. A multi-user version of the SOSET software also requires (only) one software protection key per program, connected to a workstation in a network. However still each SOSET program requires its own software protection key.
To simplify license control, we supply users with the NamoKey software. This software should always run at the computer (or workstation in a network) where the software protection key is physically connected to. As soon as you start any SOSET application at the security station, NamoKey is started automatically. The security station is the computer (or workstation in a network) where the software protection key is connected to. (In case you exit NamoKey by accident, simply double-click the NamoKey-icon of the SOSET folder (programgroup) to run NamoKey).
The NamoKey software should be kept running, while SOSET programs are being used. You only terminate NamoKey in case there are no (more) active users, usually at the end of a working day.
