Rulers

The horizontal and the vertical ruler can be set in two different measures. Via the Preferences option from the file menu you can switch between inches or millimeters. Find the X=0, Y=0 position in the upper left corner of the design-frame. That position is the starting point for the default page-layout, which will go downwards from there.

Marginmarker:
Margins can be set with the mouse pointer as well as with a menu command.

With the mouse, you can set a new margin by dragging the margin boundaries on the horizontal ruler in page layout view (displayed as blue dotted lines). When the mouse becomes a double-headed arrow and a dotted line appears, you can drag the margin boundaries. Drag the marginmarker with the mouse pointer to set the margins for the current page.
