Software Protection Key
A software protection hardware key is provided per SOSET application with your NamoSoft software package.
This key protects the NamoSoft software programs against illegal use and offers you freedom to copy or backup this precious software as many times as needed without violating any of our general terms.
The key is remotely installed during the setup. A multi-user SOSET-program requires only one software protection key per network. One station will have the NamoKey program running. Each SOSET program requires its own software security key and has (consequently) its own license.
New Sizing-System in SOSET Typeset
Starting SOSET Typeset Gold Version 2.85 a new approach to sizing is used.
SOSET uses its database-tables to control both design and production. The database-tables are included in the SOSET software package. As most manufacturers of stamp products provide you with gros sizes, SOSET Typeset accepts these sizes now. So if you want to add or edit product-information in SOSET Typeset simply enter the sizes, which you have received from your supplier. Another illustration of NamoSoft's device: software for the stamp maker's industry by the stamp maker's industry!
More about the connection between database-tables and sizing
For efficient use of database-table setup. All database-tables can be easily viewed and edited in SOSET Typeset, it is important to understand its the NamoSys Browse-option in the File menu.
The tables with technical information used for typesetting are:
- Printset-table has the basic information per product-group, as there are: Rubber stamps, Pre-inked stamps, Seals and Selfinkers. For each group you can specify the Cut-distance. SOSET will deduct this distance from the (gros) product-size from the Product-table. The Margin is the distance to the (mold-)border in a page-layout. Each group should have its unique PrintsetID.
- Color-table specifies all the pre-inked stamp or pad-colors you have. If you have a multi-color pre-inked stamp, you add e.g. the option: Red-Blue or Black-Red. Each color should have its unique ColourID.
- Product-table specifies all the properties of all your products (including whether it handles about a typeset or a stock product: Typeset = T). The width and height are gros-sizes. During typesetting the Cut-distance, as specified in the Printset-table, is deducted from these product-sizes, which results in a net-design-area.
- Mount-table specifies all available mounts you have. You might have wooden, plastic or metal handles. Use this option also to specify customized mount-options. Each mount should have its unique MountID. In the customer-data-settings in the SOSET OrderEntry version for Windows you can specify customers-mount-preference.
Exclusive and Shared Use of Database-Tables
Exclusive use of database-tables means that a database-table or file can only be used by ONE user and/or application. All operations, like indexing, packing, copying, etc. require single user access, in other words: exclusive use.
SOSET in a network allows more users to read and write in the same database-tables. This is called Shared use.
The error message "Unable to open stamp table exclusively" means that the stamp tables are already in use by an application and that an index- or pack-operation (which ALWAYS requires exclusive use) can not be done. In the Silver version it means that the stamp tables are already in use and that you have to close e.g. the Typeset application before you can start PageWizard.
Link between SOSET Typeset and SOSET OrderEntry for Windows
It is possible to go directly from SOSET OrderEntry
to SOSET Typeset. Just press the T-button,
on the Toolbar
in SOSET OrderEntry. A typeset order entered in SOSET OrderEntry
can immediately be viewed on screen in SOSET Typeset. The stamp that
corresponds to the order-, customer or product-information will be displayed on screen.
Activating a order-item-number, by clicking the appropriate textline in OrderEntry,
and subsequent switching to Typeset, will result in a full screen view of
the stamp.
